The Holy Spirit gave me a prophetic word from God about Joel Osteen and Dr. Randy Clark. Please note, my heart in sharing this word is not to attack or criticize either of these men. I do have a personal opinion about both men and their ministries, but I try to stay away from personal opinion in this video and simply share what the Lord is saying. I also don’t believe this is a word of condemnation either. I encourage you to pray and ask the Holy Spirit how to apply this word through the lens of grace.

Dear Troy,
I can see how sincere you are. Just some feed back about Joel Olsteen. The Lord showed me he is a prosperity preacher. I do not believe he is of the faith. I would be careful about endorsing him. You really didn’t say anything, but his name, which led me to think you was endorsing him along with the other guy you mentioned. I really haven’t heard much about the other guy. I do believe that signs follow those who believe. So it sounds like he knows God, but Joel is extremely questionable. You say so much truth, I just didn’t want young Christians to misunderstand and be mislead by Joel Olsteen, which I firmly believe is a worker if inquity.
To be honest, I had some comments to share about Joel–mostly my own opinion–but when I got to that point of the video the Holy Spirit told me to stop talking. So, either my opinion on Joel is wrong or it’s just not worth sharing. I hope that makes sense. I believe the Holy Spirit is trying to keep me from turning this ministry into a critical voice too.
Troy,
I love your videos, but I wish you would have said some positive things about Joel Osteen. You compared him to Randy Clark, as if Randy was more obedient to God than Joel. But I believe Joel is doing what he’s called to do. If I’m discouraged, I know I can watch Joel and his message will lift me up and stir my faith. If that’s his calling, then I hate to see anyone make it sound as if he’s not following the Holy Spirit.
Hi Nancy, I tried to share only what the Holy Spirit was saying in this one. In fact, He stopped me from sharing my own opinion on Joel. What you heard was simply what I honestly believe the Holy Spirit said. If you have an issue with it, I encourage you to go to the Lord in prayer and ask Him to either confirm or deny it. I’m not perfect, but the Holy Spirit is, and I believe He will give you a better response than I can. My heart is not to cut people down, but I do want to be obedient to share what I believe God is asking of me.
Here’s my encouragement when choosing who to listen to though: I try to ask myself, is this person really sharing the gospel or do they beat around the bush and never really get to it? I think that’s a critical question to ask. Those who have been filled with Jesus should have Jesus pouring out of them. If He’s not, then there’s something wrong. It may not mean that they are not saved, but it may mean that they are not walking close to the Lord in that moment, or it may mean that they have been distracted by something else. I believe it’s worth keeping in mind when listening to any preacher or teacher.
