Brother Troy:
In one of your videos (I believe it was one that had to do with 2022) one of the comments came from someone who was having difficulty with hate and asked for help. Here is a suggestion; if the hate comes from some sort of abuse or unfair treatment (hate and anger are usually based in fear of some kind) then separate the acts from the person responsible. Release that person from yourself and anything having to do with you; the other person(s) doesn’t feel anything from your hate, but you are suffering again and again the same trauma because of it. Then acknowledge that the treatment was unfair or wrong and understand that God hurts when His children hurt and you are worth more than how you were treated; you are worth the suffering of Jesus on the Cross and His shed Blood to God. He hates that you were treated that way and wants to comfort you and heal you of all the hurt.
Telling someone to just forgive does not validate their hurt or pain or wrongful treatment or worth. It does not let them know that they are loved and God does not want them treated badly and that they are worth so much more to God and to the person helping them and shouldn’t have had to be treated that way—it was wrong!
Separating the abuser from the treatment: that person is out of the picture—released which releases the hurt person also, then the treatment, the acts can be acknowledged as wrong without any judgment of or connection to a person (THAT ACT shouldn’t have happened to you rather than that person shouldn’t have done it). Focusing on the act being wrong, leaving the victim free from any connection to a person.
I hope this is helpful.
