Ministry Focus
About five years ago, God began leading me to write a book based on my testimony. Since then, I’ve written and published three books, and I’ve produced dozens of inspirational and teaching videos that I make available for free online. So far, I haven’t focused on gaining support for my ministry, and I price my books low so that almost anyone can afford them, so I also work on other things part time to support myself and my family. However, my goal is not simply to run a “successful” ministry in the world’s eyes. My hope is to see those who are lost come to salvation in Christ Jesus and for the Christian church to experience abundant life through the work of the Holy Spirit. I believe that God’s version of success looks different than ours, and that’s what I’m ultimately shooting for.
Beliefs
The Bible: I believe that the Bible is God’s written word to us. It is true, relevant, and unchanging.
The gospel: I believe the gospel message as it is clearly presented in Scripture: we can receive forgiveness of our sins and righteousness in God’s eyes when we repent and believe in Jesus as our Lord and Savior. Salvation is not based on our works, but instead it is based on God’s grace, which we receive through faith.
The Trinity: I believe God is three in one: Father, Son and the Holy Spirit. To know Him, we must acknowledge (though not fully understanding, I’ll admit) that God is One, and yet He exists in three persons. As His creation, we experience and receive from each member of the Trinity in different, specific ways.
God the Father: I believe the aspects of God the Father as they are listed in Scripture. Some of the major characteristics of God’s nature are that He is love, holy, just, infinite, all-present, all-knowing, and all powerful. He created humankind in His own image for His own glory and in order to fellowship with us. Because of His love for us, He offered us redemption by sending His Son, Jesus, to pay the penalty for our sins by dying on the cross.
Jesus the Son: I believe that Jesus existed with the Father before time began, and that all things were created through and for Him. Jesus is God’s Son, sent to earth as a man (fully human and fully God) to pay the penalty for the sins of the world. I believe that He died, rose again, and is seated at the right hand of God. I believe Jesus fulfilled His work on the cross because of His obedience to the Father, but also because of the love He shared with the Father. I believe that Jesus now acts as an advocate for all believers.
The Holy Spirit: I believe the Holy Spirit is God the same way that the Father and the Son are God. The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of God, and His work can be seen in the lives of God’s people throughout the Old Testament and New Testament books. When Jesus ascended into heaven, He sent the Holy Spirit to dwell inside every believer who receives Him. The Holy Spirit helps believers fulfill their calling through convicting of sin, comforting, teaching, guiding, and empowering. The Holy Spirit is evidenced through the transformation of a believer’s heart toward the image of Christ and through the gifts of the Spirit being at work in a believer’s actions.
