“Four days after Troy released this word, the Canada’s Ethics Commissioner released the financial information of Prime Minister Mark Carney on Friday, July 11th, 2025, and it showed conflicts of interest. On Monday, July 14th, 2025, the Conservative Party leader, Pierre Poilievre, held a press conference accusing Carney of lying to the public about his financial investments during his campaign and also of operating as prime minister while knowingly maintaining conflicts of financial interest.
Conservatives also criticized Carney for taking a vacation while his financial interests were made public. By law, Carney’s finances were made public 120 days after taking office. One day after Troy’s prophecy was released, the Canadian government announced Carney began a week-long vacation, on July 8th, and his location was not disclosed. Plane tracker information placed Carney’s plane in Katherine, Australia on Sunday, July 13th. This caused conservatives to accuse Carney of “hiding in Australia” and vacationing to avoid questions about his exposed conflicts of interest. Interestingly, “Oz” is a common nickname for Australia. It has not yet been confirmed that Carney actually went to Australia during his vacation, but regardless, many criticized Carney of vacationing over the period of his financial info being made public.
Also within the five days, President Trump sent a letter to Carney, and posted it publicly, on July 10th. In the letter, Trump announced higher tariffs on Canada starting August 1st, mainly due to Canada allowing fentanyl to flow into the US. Carney responded the same day with an X post, but he was severely criticized for being unable to negotiate a better trade deal with Trump, as well as for being on vacation while Canada was getting hit with higher tariffs.”
